Question: Is Tylenol safe to use with Coumadin? Tylenol (acetaminophen) is generally considered as one of the safest pain medications when used appropriately. With that being said, we have to remember that there is always risk when taking medications along with potential benefit. To say that everyone should try Tylenol first would not be appropriate as there may be other factors going on (i.e. liver disease, allergy etc.). In general, Tylenol is going to be much safer than NSAIDs to use in someone who is on Coumadin barring some other contraindication for use of Tylenol. It’s always a good idea to check with your pharmacist and doctor whenever a new medication is started to make sure it doesn’t interact with other medications you’re taking!
