The (Ambulatory Care Pharmacist) BCACP exam changed slightly in 2024 and overall, the 2025 BCACP exam is going to remain the same…UNTIL October 1st, 2025. How does this affect you if you want to become board-certified in 2025? Watch the video below!
Pass rates are historically better for the BCACP exam compared to the BCPS exam or BCGP exam. When you compare the BCACP exam to the BCPS exam, there is a small amount of content to study and I think this is the major difference in why there is a slightly higher success rate. Pass rates for the BCACP exam on average have been in the high 60s to 70s. Pass rates for the BCPS exam are typically in the 60s.
What does the October 2025 content outline change mean for you? I’ve been following the pass rates and these exams for over a decade. When a change in the content outline happens, the pass rates tend to drop. Whether that’s an unfamiliarity or unawareness that the content outline changes or they have made the exam more difficult, or something else, that has been my observation the majority of times when the content outline has changed for a board certification exam.
I will be doing an update on the blog later in 2025 when those BCACP content outline changes happen. Our study materials are ready for those taking the exam prior to October 1st, 2025.
If you purchase a 1-year access pass in June, you will get any updates we have in relation to that content outline change that occurs in October so don’t stress there.
In the video above, I discuss the content outline of the BCACP exam. There are three primary domains and our study materials were designed to cover the entire content outline. The three domains for the 2024 BCACP exam are as follows:
- Patient-Centered Ambulatory Care – 75%
- Translation of Evidence into Ambulatory Care Practice – 15%
- Ambulatory Care Practice Advancement – 10%
We’ve updated about 20 videos in our 2025 BCACP review course to keep up with guideline changes, new medications, and other relevant new information. We have also added and edited content based on customer feedback from 2024. Our goal is to provide cost-effective study materials that are focused on preparing you for the exam. We achieve that goal by putting our focus on the content outline and annually reviewing and updating the content based on feedback and clinical practice changes.
